Online acoustic transmitters provided a solution for Barking Power's steam loss problem. The Rosemount 708 Wireless Acoustic Transmitter was fitted to each individual steam trap and valve to monitor for failed traps and leaking valves. These non-intrusive devices use acoustic "listening" technology, combined with temperature measurement to identify failures.
