Global Reach Into Japan - Connected Services for Valves at JXTG Refinery

The JXTG refinery in Chiba, Japan, has a 129KBD CDU unit. AMS was installed in 2008, and 144 critical control valves with DVC positioners were connected to AMS and ValveLink. From the beginning, utilization of AMS and ValveLink was very limited due to internal resource restrictions and lack of expertise in valve diagnostic data interpretation. Utilizing Emerson’s Secure First Mile technology, JXTG now has their valve operating data reviewed remotely by Emerson experts in Tokyo on a weekly basis instead of annually, which was the prior frequency.
