Executing DeltaV Projects during a Period of Capital Constraints

35:40

Mosaic Potash Colonsay was challenged with aging and obsolete control systems and limited capital budgets. The Loadout system (early 1990's) was requiring excessive maintenance, the Mine Vent control system (from 2000) was an island of control slated to be replaced in kind. Mosaic's DeltaV control servers had been running for 10 years in a production environment and required replacement. Working with the local IBP (Spartan), Mosaic reduced capital investment required to execute these projects without sacrificing the desired quality and reliability. The Loadout system was replaced and integrated to DeltaV. The standalone Mine Vent system was integrated with DeltaV via CHARMs IO, and server replacement was part of phased project to DeltaV virtualized environment.
