Anadarko Petroleum Corp needed a way to gain I/O data due to multiple recurring process issues and over $1M in unplanned maintenance costs at their midstream facility in South Texas. This facility, originally constructed in 2010, was not capable of handling the Eagle Ford oil production growth that came soon after. The multi-stage approach to facility construction did not include adequate I/O capacity. Wireless technology, consisting of Gateway, WPG, X-Well, and Wireless Guided Wave Radars provided an efficient solution to gaining the necessary process insight. APC saved $200K over traditional wired installation, eliminated $1M in maintenance issues through predictive maintenance, reduced safety risks associated with traditional wired installation, hot tap installation and manual operator rounds.
